Mise en Scene
Substance. Sincerity. Swagger. Reverb. All are abundant throughout the nine tracks comprising Desire’s Despair, the debut full-length from indie rock/pop pair Mise en Scene. Coming 2014 to Europe, the record follows Mise en Scene’s 2010 EP Late Night Triple Feature and is poised to propel this boisterous x-chromosome-only duo to a new plateau.

Indicator Indicator is the omnivorous pop project of singer/songwriter Sandy Taronno. Just nominated for WCMA’s Best Pop Recording of 2013 and charting throughout the college landscape, the self-titled debut EP is a six-song slice of smart alt-pop that combines the melodicism and intimacy of Elliott Smith, the electro-pop hooks of The Postal Service, and the deconstructionist fussiness of Wilco and Spoon.

We Were Found In The Fog, the full-length debut from Winnipeg indie rock outfit Federal Lights, is both immediate and affecting, the kind of record that burns with a quiet intensity and an unflinching focus. The kind of record that comes from a band born out of necessity.
