Our Member’s Stories on Giving Tuesday

At Bike Winnipeg, we’re more than an advocacy organization—we’re a community. Our members are why we do what we do. They inspire us, drive change, and remind us that biking isn’t just about getting around; it’s about belonging, freedom, and connection.

Here are a few of their stories:

Aishah found her way in Winnipeg after moving here 18 months ago. Through biking and our community, she discovered new places, made friends, and finally felt at home. “It opened my eyes to a lot of things… It’s been very good.”

Mike & Shelley turned their passion into collective power. For them, Bike Winnipeg amplifies their voice for safer streets—because change happens when we stand together.

Aro has found acceptance and belonging here. For Aro, safe biking infrastructure means more than concrete—it’s about building a community where everyone feels at home.

Koko, a cyclist for 40 years, now shares the joy of biking with their kids. They live car-free but emphasize the need for better, connected infrastructure—and an organized voice to advocate for it.

Daniel, Rachel & their kids are thriving without a car. They explore the city, save money, and stay active—thanks to a supportive bike community and safer streets.

This #GivingTuesday, you can help us welcome, support, and empower more Winnipeggers like them.

Your donation will:

✅ Create welcoming events that help people explore and connect
✅ Advocate for protected bike lanes and safer streets for all ages and abilities
✅ Build a supportive network for new riders and car-free families
✅ Strengthen our collective voice for a bike-friendly Winnipeg

Together, we can ensure that everyone—whether finding their way, raising a family, or riding with pride—has a place in our bike community.
