Fun Fact: Did you know the idea for International Winter Bike to Work Day started right here in Winnipeg, back in 2013? Each year since, more communities around the world have joined in—gathering every second Friday in February to show that active transportation is a realistic and vibrant option, even through the winter months!
This year, join us on Friday, February 13th from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM at Bonneycastle Park (corner of Garry St & Assiniboine Ave)—one of the busiest intersections for bike commuters—to celebrate!
Much like our Coffee Outside meetups in the summer, this is a chance for those who commute year-round to pause and connect. We’ll be serving hot chocolate to keep things cozy! Everyone is welcome, no matter how you get around. We know many cyclists also use transit during the winter, and that’s the point: we need a full range of travel choices, all equally supported and well-funded.
