Jeff Browaty – North Kildonan 2018

No specific statements or platform concerning cycling and active transportation appear on the candidate’s website.

From Vote Winnipeg 2018 (Winnipeg Free Press) accessed 2 Oct 2018:

Q: “What should Winnipeg’s plan be for the future of public and active transit?”

A: “The City should implement Transit quality corridors with high frequency service and drop current plans to complete multiple routes of rapid transit by 2030.

Active Transportation should be enhanced where it makes sense. Downtown bike lanes should mostly be seasonal and removed over the winter when very few people would use them and they are difficult to plow.”

From Winnipeg Votes 2018 (CBC) accessed 17 Oct 2018:

Q: “Where do you stand on the Portage and Main referendum?”

A: “I am strongly opposed to the opening of Portage and Main. When it looked like Mayor [Brian] Bowman was going to try ramming the opening through, it was in fact my work that got the question on the ballot in the first place. So no, I am very much opposed to the opening of Portage and Main.”

The candidate did not complete the 2018 all-candidate environmental survey: A coalition of Winnipeg Environmental Organizations compiled questions for an all-candidate (Mayoral and Councilor) survey with questions relating to the environment, including AT.
