It’s incredibly frustrating and disheartening to have yet another ride canceled due to poor air quality from wildfire smoke—especially after all the effort that goes into organizing, volunteering, and preparing for these events.
For the ride marshals who dedicate their time and energy to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, it’s a letdown to see their commitment go unrealized. And for participants who were looking forward to the camaraderie, exercise, and joy of a group ride, it’s another missed opportunity in what might already feel like a summer marred by environmental factors.
Hang in there—better riding days will come. The joy of life on a bike is what keeps people coming back, even through the setbacks.\
